Selling price=2400 - 2400x10/100
=2400-240
=2160
Let the cost price bex
So profit=X(25%)
=x/4
So selling price=2160
x+x/4=2160
5x/4=2160
x=1728rs
Hence cost price is rs1728

Given: A sells all products having a printed price of rs 2400 at all discount of 10% on the printed price. He earns and profit of 25 % on this sale.

To find: We have to find the cost price of A.

Solution:

The printed price of A is 2400.

The seller gives a 10% discount on the printed price. So, the selling price becomes-

2400 - 2400 \times \frac{10}{100} \\ = 2400 - 240 \\ =21 60

Thus, the selling price of the product is 2160 rupees.

Let the cost price of A be x.

The percentage of profit is 25%.

So, we can write-

 \frac{2160 - x}{x} = \frac{25}{100} \\ \frac{2160 - x}{x} = \frac{1}{4} \\ 8640 - 4x =x \\ 5x = 8640 \\ x = 1728

The value of x is 1728.

So, the cost price of the product is 1728 rupees.
