1.Given = A sells an article priced at Rs.36,000.
He gives discount of 8% on the first Rs 20,000 .
And he gives discount of 5% on the remaining Rs 16,000.

A.T.Q.

Discount of first 20000           = 8/100 × 20000 = 1600
Discount of remaining 16000  = 5/100 × 16000 =   800
                                  Total  =                     Rs 2400

Therefore , actual price charged by A = 36,000 - 2400 = Rs 33, 600.

Now B also sells another article of same kind priced in Rs.36,000
He give
a discount of 7% on the total price.
So Discount = 7/100 ×36000 = Rs 2520.

Therefore actual prize charged by B = 36000 - 2520 = Rs 33,480.

solution :
            Price of Article = 36,000

             Discount Given By A  = 8% of 20,000 + 5% of 16000
                                             =8/100*20000 + 5/100*16000
                                             = 8*200 + 5*160
                                             = 1600 + 800

             Discount Given By A =2400
Therefore , Actual Price Charged by A = 36000 - 2400  = 33600

           Discount given by B = 7% of 36,000
                                         = 7/100*36000

           Discount given by B =2520

Therefore , Actual Price Charged by A = 36000 - 2520  = 33480

Hope This helps You!!

Thank You!!

Cheers!!
