Given : current location T (3, -2) on the coordinate plane relocated to a new location S.

The movement of the squad is described by the translation (x, y) ⟶ (x-4, y+6)

To Find : coordinates of the new location S

Solution:

(x, y) ⟶ (x-4, y+6)

T (x, y) ⟶  S (X, Y)

X = x - 4

Y = y + 6

current location T (3, -2)

x = 3

y = - 2

X = x - 4 => X = 3 - 4 = - 1

Y = y + 6  => Y = -2 + 6   = 4

( - 1  , 4)

the coordinates of the new location S of the squad  = ( - 1 , 4)
