A set of all possible outcomes of an experiment is called Sample space.
- When an experiment is conducted, all the possible outcomes of the experiment are termed as the Sample space.
- When we toss a coin, the total possible outcomes are 2 i.e. getting head or a tail, so the sample space is {H, T}.
- When we throw a die, the total possible outcomes are 6 i.e. getting either 1 or 2or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6, so the sample space is {1,2,3,4,5,6}.
- The sample space consists of both favorable and non-favorable cases.
- The sample space is represented by the letter 'S'.
Hence, a set of all possible outcomes of an experiment is called Sample space.
