A severe drought in the Northern Plains of India is likely to affect all the people of India, even those staying far away. Do you agree? Give reasons.

yes I do....its is because -
i) Northern plains are the source of crops hence food in India. Here drought means the food demand will not be fulfilled for people of India. And hence can result in what we call Akaal in hindi.
ii) Due to shortage of food the prices of food will increase resulting in the increasing gap between poor and rich as the poor will not be able to nourish themselves due to lack of money.
iii) Drought in Northern plains indicate that rainfall conditions are very bad hence its also indicates that other places of India will also have to face drought.
iv) Northern plains have dense population. Drought here means adverse condition of a large section of people in India.
v) Agriculture sector will decline. Agriculture is that activity in which almost half of the population is dependent. Decline in this sector will affect the conditions of people who are dependent on it , whether they are in Northern plains itself or in other part of the country.
Hope it will help.
