A ship sends out a sound signal straight down and receives its echo after one second .What is depth of the sea spot ?(Speed of sound =1430m/s)

Hello!

Now, here you are wrong with one thing. The actual speed of sound is 340 m/s.

If this is the case, then the sound wave, takes a total of 1 second to reach the sea floor and back up again.

340/2 = 170 metres!

If you are assuming that the sound of speed is 1430 m/s, then the answer would be:

1430/2 = 715 metres!
