here is your answer
=================
given

➡time between transmission ans detection t=3.42s

➡speed of ultra sound is sea water

➡v=1531m/s

➡distance travelled by ultra sound

➡2×depth of the sea =2d

➡where d is depth of the sea

➡2d=speed of sound ×time

➡1531m/s×3.42s=5236m

➡d=5236m/2=2618m

➡thus the distance of the sea bed from the ship is 2618m or 2.62km
