A ship sets out to sail to a point 150 km due north. an unexpected storm blows the ship to a point 129 km due east of its starting point

I think the question you are asked is incorrect please check it once .
let me guess the question
if in the question asks you to find the distance
then just add up the distances given in the question I.e.,( 150+129) km = 279 km
if in the question requires to find displacement
then find the length of third side take opposite and adjacent side lengths as 150 km and 129 km because the ship sails out at 90° when it hits by storm
therefore the answer is
 \sqrt{ {150}^{2} +  {129}^{2}}
