A ship whose mass is 5x107kg is initially at rest is pulled by a force of 15x104N through a distance of 10m. If the

resistance due to water is negligible then what is the speed of the ship

Heya.......!!!!

________________________

Given in the question :-

• Mass of ship = 5 × 10^7 Kg
• Force = 15 × 10^4 N
• Distance travelled = 10 m

By this information we can take out Acceleration of the ship .

Acceleration ( a ) = f / m

=> a =
 =  >  \frac{15 \times 10 {}^{4} }{5 \times 10 {}^{7} }  \\   \\ =  >  \: 3 \times 10 {}^{ - 3}

Acceleration => 3 × 10^-3 m/s^2 .

Initial velocity ( u ) = 0
Final velocity ( v ) = ?

=> v^2 = u^2 + 2as
=> v^2 = 2as

=> v^2 = 2 × 3 × 10^-3 × 10

=> v^2 = 6 × 10^-2
=> v = √(6 × 1 / 100 )

=> v = 1 / 10 √6 m/s
