Let the price after reduction be X
According to question
=> X + 7% of X =749
=> X + 7/100 × X =749
=> 107X/100 = 749
=> X = 749×100/107
=> X = 700
Hence new price = 700
Reduction = 749-700 =49
Reduction rate = reduction /real price × 100
=49/749×100
=6.54%
