RATIO OF  football,rugby,and hiking is 6:2:3

so,let x ,   6x , 2x, 3x

last month 24 pair of football = 6x

===> 6x = 24

==> x = 4

rugby = 2x

==> 2(4) ==> 8

hiking = 3x

==> 3(4)

==> 12

so, altogether were sold last month = 12+8+24

==>  44

answer = 44

Given: a shop sells three types of boots football,rugby,and hiking sales are usually in ratio 6:2:3 last month 24 pairs of football boots were sold

To find: how many boots altogether were sold last month.

Solution:

According to the question, 24 football boots were sold last month. Also, the ratio of the number of football boots to the number of rugby boots is given as follows.

\frac{football}{rugby} = \frac{6}{2}

Now, the number of rugby boots sold can be found as follows.

\frac{24}{rugby} = \frac{6}{2}

rugby = \frac{24*2}{6}

          = 8

So, 8 rugby boots were sold last month. Now, the ratio of the number of football boots to the number of hiking boots is given as follows.

\frac{football}{hiking } = \frac{6}{3}

So, the number of hiking boots sold last month is

hiking = \frac{24*3}{6}

           = 12

Hence, the total number of boots sold is calculated to be

24 + 8 + 12 = 44

Therefore, 44 boots altogether were sold last month.
