Question :

A shopkeeper bought a suitcase for 480 rupees and sold it for 540 find his gain percent?

To find : Gain Percent ?

_____________________________

Solution :

Given:

C.P of suitcase = 480 Rs

S.P of the suitcase = 540 Rs

Now ,

According to the condition:

It is very clear that , that there is profit to shopkeeper.

profit = s.p \:  - c.p

 = > profit \: = 540 - 480

 = > profit \: = 60

Now , Profit percentage (P P ) :

profit\% = \frac{profit}{cost \: price} \times 100

Putting the values in the above formula :

profit\% \: = \frac{60}{480} \times 100

On simplification:

 = > profit\% = \frac{1}{8} \times 100

Profit % = 12.5 [Answer]

So , the shopkeeper gained a profit of 12.5% on the suitcase.
