Profit of 20 %

Step-by-step explanation:

CP of 12 eggs = 60

CP of 1 egg = 60/12 = 5

Therefore, he bought 1 egg in 5 and sold it in 6

=> He had a profit.

Total money he got from selling 12 eggs = (12×6) = 72.

Total profit = (72-60) = 12

Profit percentage = profit × 100/CP

= 12 × 100/60

= 20%

GIVEN :-

  • A shopkeeper bought one dozen a for Rs.60
  • sold each egg for Rs.6.

TO FIND :-

  • The profit or loss %.

SOLUTION :-

▪︎C.P of 1 dozen eggs = Rs.60

▪︎S.P of 1 egg = Rs.6

▪︎S.P of 1 dozen eggs = Rs. 6 × 12

= Rs. 72

Here, S.P >C.P

=> Profit = S.P - C.P

= 72 - 60

= Rs.12

=> Profit % =[( profit/C.P )×100%]

= [(12/60)× 100%]

= 20 %

Hence the profit % is 20%.
