A shopkeeper bought two fans for Rs 3120. He sod one of them at a profit of 36% and the other at a loss of 15%. He found that each fan was sold for the same price. Find the cost price of each fan.

Let CP of first fan (CP.1) be Rs x

     CP of second fan (CP.2) be Rs (3120-x).

SP.1 = (100+36)*x/100

SP.2= (100-15)*(3120-x)/100

According to question,

   SP.1 = SP.2

or, (100+36)*x/100 = (100-15)*(3120-x)/100

or, 136x = 85 (3120-x)

or, 136x = 265200 - 85x

or, 221x = 265200

or, x = Rs. 1200 = C.P.1

C.P.2 = Rs (3120 - 1200) = Rs 1920
