A shopkeeper bought two fans for rupees 5000 he sold one at profit of 10% and the other at a loss of 10% If the SP of both hands are equal find the cost price of each fan​

Let the CP to be Rs x

So, the CP of other fan will be Rs(5000-x)

Given that he sold one at a profit of 10%

So, using Profit% =  \frac{profit}{cp}  \times 100

 10 =  \frac{profit}{x}  \times 100

profit =  \frac{x}{10}

So, SP of 1st fan

 = x +  \frac{x}{10}  =  \frac{11x}{10}

(SP = CP+profit)

Also, given that he sold the other at loss of 10%

So, using loss%  =  \frac{loss}{cp}  \times 100

10 =  \frac{loss}{(5000 - x)}  \times 100

loss =  \frac{(5000 - x)}{10}

SP of 2nd fan

 = (5000 - x) -  \frac{(5000 - x)}{10}

As given in the question,

both the SP are same

So,

 \frac{11x}{10}  = (5000 - x) -  \frac{(5000 - x)}{10}

 \frac{11x}{10}  =  \frac{50000 - 10x - 5000 + x}{10}

11x = 45000 - 9x

20x = 45000

x = 2250

So, 5000-x

= 5000-2250

= [2750]

=[2250]
