Given:

A shopkeeper buys 350 kg of Apples at rupees 5.60 per kg

To find:

The rate at which he sells the remaining to gain the profit of Rs. 350

Solution:

A shopkeeper buys 350 kg of Apples at rupees 5.60 per kg

So the cost price of the shopkeeper is

350×5.6

  • Rs 1960

The total selling price of the apples after getting the profit of Rs 350

  • 1960 + 350
  • Rs 2310

As we have given that the shopkeeper has sold half of the apples that means 175 kg at the rate of Rs. 7 per kg

So the selling price for the half of the apple is

  • 175 × 7
  • Rs 1225

now the remaining have to be sold in

  • Rs 2310 - Rs 1225
  • Rs 1085

Rate of the apple is given as:

  • 1085/175
  • Rs 6.2

So the remaining apple must be sold at the rate of Rs 6.2
