\underline{SOLUTION}

Given,

Difference between the selling prices = Rs. 700

Let,

The cost price of each T.V set = Rs.x

In the first case,

30% profit on cost price .

•°• Selling price of the T.V. set = Rs \: . \: \: (x + 30 \: of \: x) \\ \\ = Rs \: . \: \: (x + \frac{30}{100} \times x) \\ \\ = Rs \: . \: \: ( \frac{100x +30x }{100} \\ \\ = Rs \: . \: \: \frac{130x}{100}

Again,

In the second case,

5% loss on cost price .

•°• Selling price of the T.V. set = Rs \: . \: \: (x - 5 \: of \: x) \\ \\ = Rs \: . \: \: (x - \frac{5}{100} \times x) \\ \\ = Rs \: . \: \: ( \frac{100x - 5x}{100} ) \\ \\ = Rs \: . \: \: \frac{95x}{100}

A.T.Q.,

 \frac{130x}{100} - \frac{95x}{100} = 700 \\ \\ = > \frac{130x - 95x}{100} = 700 \\ \\ = > \frac{35x}{100} = 700 \\ \\ = > 35x = 700 \times 100 \\ \\ = > 35x = 70000 \\ \\ = > x = \frac{70000}{35} \\ \\ = > x = 2000

Cost price of each T.V. set = Rs.2000

\underline{ANSWER} ➡ Rs. 2000
