A shopkeeper has 50kg of rice. He sells a part of it for 20% profit and the rest at 40% profit. On the whole, he gains 25%. Find the amount of rice for each transaction. ​

Let the quantity of rice sold at 20% gain = x

According to question,

x×120100+(50−x)×140100=50×125100

120x+7000−140x=6250

20x=750

x = 37.5 kg
