Well, to begin with, there’re a few assumptions that one would have to make to answer this question.
- Assumption 1
If you’re saying 4 apples have a mass of 1 KG, it’s not exactly clear if it’s 1 KG each or if it’s the summation of all the 4 together.
But since I believe in logic, and for the sake of academics, I am going to assume that it’s the cumulative mass of all 4 apples.
- Assumption 2
I don’t blame the question, but I am forced to make this assumption to answer the question, for the sake of answering.
Based on the 1st assumption we’ve made, mass of an individual apple is clearly unknown. Although not logical, to facilitate our answering, we’re going to assume that each of the apples are equally distributed in mass.
Answer
Mass of 4 apples(from 1st assumption) = 1 KG
1 KG = 1000 g
Mass of each apple(from 3rd assumption)= 1000/4 g
Answer = 250 g (+- 20g) (if our 2nd assumption weren’t true)
Although, you might want to consider multiplying the above value in KG with 9.8 if you want it’s weight.
