a shopkeeper offers 12% discount to the costumers and stills makes a profit of 20%. what is the actual cost of an article marked for rs 600.

Answer : Cost Price = Rs 440


Explanation -

Given : Marked Price = 600

Discount = 12%


Discount = 600 x 12/100 = 72.



Finding Selling Price -

Selling Price = Marked Price - Discount

Selling Price = 600 - 72

Selling Price = 528.


Finding cost price -

cost \: price \:  =  \dfrac{100}{100 + profit}  \times sp


 =  \dfrac{100}{100 + 20}  \times 528


 \dfrac{100}{120}  \times 528


= 440.


Hence :

Cost Price = 440
