Answer:

9.77 %

Step-by-step explanation:

A shopkeeper offers to sell 33% more quantity of a product for a price that

is 20% higher. What is the effective discount that he is offering

Let say Item Cost Price  = X

Item  = Y

Total Cost Price = XY

Price is 20% Higher Then Price = X + (20/100)X = 1.2X

Sell Price = 1.2XY

33% more quantity of a product is offered

=> item = Y + (33/100)Y = 1.33Y

Cost Price = 1.33XY

Sell Price = 1.2XY

Discount = 1.33XY - 1.2XY  = 0.13 XY

% Discount = (0.13XY/1.33XY) * 100  = 9.77 %

Effective Discount = 9.77%

if Quantity would have been 33.33% (1/3) offered more then % Discount = 10%
