Answer:

Rs.1300

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost price of sweater be x

Now we are given that A shopkeeper sells a sweater at a loss of 5% .

So, Loss = 5 \% \times x  = \frac{5}{100} \times x = 0.05x

S.P. = C.P. - Loss = x-0.05 x =0.95x

Now when he earns profit of 15 %

So, Profit = 15 \% \times x  = \frac{15}{100} \times x = 0.15x

S.P. = C.P. +Profit  = x+0.15 x =1.15 x

Now we are given that  If he had sold it for Rs 260 more , he would have made a profit of 15% .

So, 1.15 x - 0.95 x = 260

0.2 x = 260

x = \frac{260}{0.2}

x = 1300

Hence cost price of the sweater is Rs. 1300.
