Let Cp is x

Sp = 108%x for profit

If sold for Rs 285 less then profit become loss of 2%or ( 98%of x)

So he has gained 108%of Cp or (x) and sold for (-285/-) less he made a loss of 2% or 98%of Cp or (x).

108x/100 - 285 = 98x/100

(108x - 28500) /100 = 98x /100

108x - 28500 = 98x

10x = 28500

X = 2850/-

Or Cp is Rs 2850/-.
