First term = 5
common difference = 2
We know that
nth Term = a + (n - 1)d
where a is the first term and d is the common difference.
So, 2nd term
= a + (2 - 1)d
= 5 + (1)2
= 5 + 2
= 7
Third term
= 5 + (3 - 1)2
= 5 + (2)2
= 5 + 4
= 9
Fourth Term
= 5 + (4 - 1)2
= 5 + (3)2
= 5 + 6
= 11
Hence first four terms of the A.P. are
5,7,9,11...
