A shopkeeper sold a chair for Rs .240 and makes a profit of 12 percent . what is the actual profit of the chair.

S. P = Rs 240

P% = 12%

So, C.P = sp x 100/100+p

= 240 x 100/100 + 12

=240 x 100/112

= 1500/7

Therefore, P = S.P - C.P

= 240 - 1500/7

= 1680-15007

=180/7

= 25.71
