sp of 1 fan=1148
he gains 14%
let cp be 100 then sp=114
if sp is 114 then cp is 100
if sp is 1148 then cp is 100/114×1148=1007

2nd fan sp=1148
lost 5%
again let cp be 100 then sp =96
if sp is 95 then cp is 100
if sp is 1148 then cp is 100/95×1148=1208

for both fans
cp=1007+1208=2215
sp=1148×2=2296
profit =2296-2215=rs 81
p%=actual profit/cp×100
81/2215×100=3.65%

8334812253shinam: so mine is right

S.P. of two fans = ₹1148
S.P. of one fan = 1148/2 = ₹574
on one fan he gains 14% profit
=> 14/100*574 = ₹80.36
while on the other fan he lost 5%
=> 5/100*574 = ₹28.7
therefore he gained profit = 80.36 - 28.7 = ₹51.66
profit percentage = 51.66/574*100 = 9%
