A shopkeper sold 4 times as many eggs on monday than on tuesday.if the total number of eggs sold on these two days was 850, find the number of eggs on monday and on tuesday?

let the number of eggs sold on Tuesday be x
so,the number of eggs sold on monday is 4 times than that of Tuesday i.e 4x
now, 4x + x = 850
=> 5x=850
=>x=850/5
=>x=170
