Once upon a time there lived a woodcutter in a village beside the forest.He was very poor and could hardly food twice the day.
One day, he went to woods to cut a tree so that he could sell wood and earn some money. When he was cutting a branch of a tree , his axe suddenly slipped from his hand and fell into the river. He was crying . At that time Water goddess came out of the river and asked,"Why are you crying?" , he replied," My axe has fallen in the river. What will I do? I couldn't earn a single money without my axe . I will die without getting a food." The Water goddess went into the river and brought a golden axe and asked him ,"Is this your axe?", he replied "No."Then she again went into the water and bought a silver axe. She asked him,"Is this your axe?" , he replied,"No, this axe is also not mine. My axe is ordinary." The Water goddess again went into the water and bought an ordinary axe and asked him ,"Is this axe belong to you?, he replied happily,"Yes ,yes,this is mine." Water goddess gave him three axes and said,"You are an honest person. So,take these axes are my gift , take it for your honesty." The woodcutter took those three axes happily and went to his home.
