ANSWER:-

• Only 25 % of the people in Palampur are engaged in non farming activities.

1. DAIRY:- People feed their buffaloes on various kinds of grass and the jowar during rainy season and sell the milk in Raiganj a large village from there it is transported to villages and towns away by the traders of Shahpur .
2. SMALL - SCALE MANUFACTURING:- Only less than 50 people are engaged in manufacturing in Palampur. Unlike the manufacturing in Big factories, Palampur involves very simple production methods and in small- scale . It is usually done in home or field by family labourers . Rarely labourers are hired .
3. THE SHOPKEEPERS OF PALAMPUR:- People involved in trade (exchange of goods) or not many in Palampur. Shopkeepers buy various item from wholesale shops. They used to sell eatables and stationary . Only families whose house are close to the bus stand have used the part of space for setting up shops.
4. TRANSPORT:-A DAST DEVELOPING SECTOR:- There are a lot of vehicles travelling in the road that connects Palampur and Raiganj like Rikshawalas, tongawalas, Jeep, tractor and truck. People driving bullock carts and bogeys helps in transport services . They ferry people and goods from one place to another and return get paid for it. Now many started involving in transport in Palampur .
