Firstly, what is democracy?

  • Democracy is a form of government where people are allowed to chose their own representatives by elections.

It can also be called the rule of people.

What are the values of democracy?

  • Equality and Justice are the main values of democracy. WHY? Because giving equal rights to people is the only form of government everyone should follow, and there shouldn't be any country which doesn't give justice to people.

There are many basic concepts of democracy. What are they?

Everyone is deserved to be a part of our country.

Everyone should be given the right to vote.

Everyone should be given equality.

Everyone should be given justice.

There should be no discrimination between people about caste, race, gender, sex, creed etc.

All the citizens are equal before the law.

To agree that a particular country follows democracy, we must ensure that Free and fair elections are conducted, everyone is equal before the law, everyone is allowed to vote, there should be the freedom of speech and expression.

There are two types of Democracies followed all over the world.

Governmental democracy : This is a type of democracy which is ruled by the government where the representatives of the government are elected by the people.

Monarchical democracy : This is a type of government where a particular country is ruled by a king or a queen. And the rulers are not elected or selected by the people.

As we saw many things about democracy, there is a dark side of democracy too.

What are the problems faced or caused by democracy?

  • The government is unable to fulfill the problems of each and every citizen. It is not at all possible for the government to fulfill the needs of every citizen present in the country.
  • Not everyone's voice is heard everywhere.
  • There is corruption in most of the government places.

\huge\mathbb{\underline{A\:Way\:Of\:Life:}}

Good morning to the excellencies, respected teachers and/or hounarable guests and my dear friends, I, xyz of standard xyz standing before you to deliver my views on democracy and describe its features.

Democracy, is not just a form of government, but that type of government which gives the citizens of a particular state or country the opportunity and rights to elect their rulers. Unlike monarchial rule, in democracy, elections offer a choice and very fair opportunity to the people to elect and change the current rulers of their state and country.

There are certain features of this form of government which include :

  1. In democracy, the last or final decision i.e., making power must and always rest with those that are elected by the citizens.
  2. It is genuinely based on a free and fair election where the current rulers holding power have a fair chance of losing.
  3. Each citizen above the age of 18 has to have one vote and that one vote must have one value.

Coming back to the point, democracy enhances every citizen to describe its thoughts and problems for their country and the rulers has to listen and sort it together with them. Furthermore, if we compare monarchial rule and democratic government, we mainly come to an end opposing monarchy as in the monarchial rule, the royal family or the monarchs and the ministeries decide everything for the country and people do not get any opportunity to speak for the better results of the country, while in democracy, even the poor people can be elected if they afford some best qualities so that they good improve the country and can listen to its citizens.

Democracy is, at last, finally a way of living of every citizen as it brings a change in the country and further, signifies the country for its improvement.

I would like to conclude my speech by these few lines :

Democracy is by the people and, moreover, for the people.

Thank you!
