Explanation:

The Lord of the Flies is authored by William Golding. It is set in war settings.

A group of boys is being transported by an aircraft during the war and it is shot down over the ocean. The story is about the boys who survived this crash.

The main characters are Ralph, Piggy, and Jack. Ralph and Piggy come across each other on the island after the aircraft is shot down and introduce each other. As they look around for any more survivors, they come across a conch shell. Piggy feels it is a special conch shell and asks Ralph to blow it. On hearing the sound of the conch, a few other boys join them on the island.

They decide on a leader and while the choir boys elect Jack,  Ralph wins the votes and is elected. Ralph names Jack the head of the hunter boys and they all decide to explore their surroundings. They reach the top of the cliff and get a magnificent view of the island they are in.

The story reveals the innate adventurous spirit in the boys and the urge to explore despite being in more civilized times.
