Given :

➳ A simple pendulum completes 120 oscillations in 1min.

To Find :

⟶ Time period of simple pendulum.

SoluTion :

Time requires to complete an oscillation is called time period.

➠ In other words, Time period is defined as the ratio of total time to the total no. of oscillations.

➠ SI unit : s

Mathematically,

\bigstar\:\underline{\boxed{\bf{\gray{Time\:period=\dfrac{Total\:time}{No.\:of\:oscillations}}}}}

Conversion :-

➾ 1 min = 60 seconds

⇒ T = t / n

⇒ T = 60 /120

⇒ T = 1/2

T = 0.5 s

Given ,

A simple pendulum complete 120 oscillations in 1 min

We know that ,

Time period is defined as the time taken to complete one oscillation

 \boxed{ \sf{Time  \: period =  \frac{ Time \: taken }{Number \:  of  \: oscillation} }}

Thus ,

Time period = 60/120

Time period = 1/2

Time period = 0.5 sec

Therefore ,

  • The time period of simple pendulum is 0.5 sec
