A simple pendulum consists of bob of mass 10 grams, and length of
the pendulum is 100 cm. How much work is done in moving the
pendulum from vertical position to horizontal position ?​

Work done= force * distance ;

When a body of mass m is lifted from the above the surface level at height h, then the work done is stored in it as its potential energy;

Work done = Potential energy

Work done = m x g x h;

Now we are given that;

Mass=m= 10g = 10/1000= 0.01 kg;

Height = h= 100cm = 100/100= 1m;

Taking value of g = 9.8 ;

Work done = m x g x h;

Putting the values;

Work done = 0.01 x 9.8 x 1;

Work done = 0.098 J;
