10 sec ---> 20 oscillations

So, 1 sec ---> 2 oscillations

Hence frequency is 2 Hz

Time period is reciprocal of frequency.
So, T is 0.5 sec

The frequency and time period of oscillation are 2 Hz and 0.5 seconds respectively.

Explanation:

Given that,

Number of oscillations, n = 20

Time, t = 10 s

To find,

The frequency and time period of oscillation.

Solution,

The total number of oscillation per unit time is called frequency of a wave. It is given by :

f=\dfrac{n}{t}

f=\dfrac{20}{10}

f = 2 Hz

The reciprocal of frequency is called time period of an object. It is given by :

T=\dfrac{1}{f}

T=\dfrac{1}{2}

T = 0.5 seconds

So, the frequency and time period of oscillation are 2 Hz and 0.5 seconds respectively.
