area of semi circle DB
radius =5

area =πr^2/2=25π/2
area of semi circle AB
same 25π/2

add both (25π/2)2=25π=78.5

area of two unshaded region is 100-78.5=21.5

simarly find area of semicircle AD and BC

there are four unshaped areas 2*21.5=53

shaded region =area of square-area of unshaped region

=100-53=47

Answer:

57 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

From figure:

Area of II & IV:

= Area of ABCD - Area of two circles each of radius 5 cm(Area of I & III)

= [10 * 10 - 2 * 1/2 * π * 5²]

= [100 - 78.5]

= 21.5 cm²

Similarly, Area of I & III = 21.5 cm².

Area of shaded region:

= Area of ABCD - Area of (I + II + III + IV)

= (100 - 2 * 21.5)

= 100 - 43

= 57 cm².

Hope it helps!
