A three-day theatre festival was organised at Premchand Rangashala recently. The first day of the event saw Kuchhi Ka Kanoon being staged. The play was written by Abhijeet Chakraborty and directed by Vijendra Kumar. The main characters were played by Ravi Bhushan, Manjari Mani, Rajnesh Kumar, Md Jafar Alam, Rubi Khatoon and Shivangi Anand. 

The play highlights how society still continues to be male dominated and how men at times disrespect women. Abhijeet Chakraborty, said, “The play revolves around a widow, Kuchhi, who conceives without getting remarried. She is being tortured by her family as well other members in society. But Kuchhi fights back and conveys a message that no one can impose their decision on a woman. People must understand the meaning of women empowerment.”
