Answer:

2 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

In the first minute the ant climbs 4 cm and falls 3 cm i.e. It climbs 1 cm in a minute. In the second minute it will climbs 4 cm and falls 3 cm, i.e. Climbs 1 cm more. In total the ant ant climbs 2 cm in 2 minutes.

Answer:

max point it can reach = 4cm in 1min

max point it slips = 3cm (after climbing 4cm)

to find = time taken to climb only 2cm

Here the destiny is before slipping down. So it would be a normal math

Time to climb 4cm = 60s

time to climb 1cm = 15s

time to climb 2cm = 30s

But , if the Q is in that sence that what is the time so that it can firmly stay in the 2cm above the ground, then,-

Total distance it covers in 1min after the fall = 4-3 = 1cm

therefore, in the second minute :-

1+4 = 5-3 = 2cm.

therefore, the ant can successfully climb 2cm in 2min without any more fall from that position.

Now there are two options given for your Q. The Answer suitable for you , that u can choose from here.

Hope it helped :)
