As the car is accerlating the string will not hang straight.


There will be some angle caused. The angle between the displaced and orginal position must be calculated.


The down force( vertical), F1=mg; Backward pseudo force (Horizontal), F2= ma; Tension caused in the string,T=  root of F1 sq+F2 sq = m root of a square+ g square
