This was a speech given by chief Seattle, who was the leader of Dewanish  other pacific ocean northwest tribes. He gave this speech when the government of U.S.A wanted to occupy the lands of all the tribal people and keep the tribals in a separate reserve area. Seattle says that the sky, warmthness, the air, water are all connected with the people of the land and can't be bought by someone else. Every part of the earth is sacred to man and woods, running water etc. are the sweet memories of his men. he says that flowers and other animals are his sisters and brothers and could not be possible for any other to buy them because the land is sacred to them. he says that the land is sacred because it was the blood of his ancestors. He feels that the rivers are his brothers and they quench the thirst and give them food. Seattle also says that the beasts are also part of the life of man and life becomes waste without the beasts. He says that the land over which they move is sacred to them and must be respected. It is the duty of every individual to teach their children about the greatness of the motherland. this speech is related to the environment, protection of forest area etc
