After collision the components becomes= √3 e v ÷2 i + v÷2 j

Change in velocity = √3v(e-1)÷2 i

Change in momentum = m×√3v(e-1)÷ 2

As time t is small, let it be t ,rate of change of momentum = m×√3v(e-1)÷2t
