the total collection is 92.16 rupees that is 9216 paise
let there be x members then each one contributed x paise
so, total money collected in paise should be x into x
therefore
x^2 =9216
x=96 paise
so there were 96 members and each gave 96 paise

Shaambhavi: thank you
bharatdetha: hope it helps.

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of member in society = total amount of money collected=v

amount of money collected all total=92.16

v×v=92.16

v^=92.16

v=square of 92.16

v=9.6

Some people find problem in calculation part

so prime factorisation of 92.16=

92.16=(2×2)×(2×2)×(2×2)×(2×2)×(2×2)×(3×3)

Square root of 92.16=2×2×2×2×2×3

Answer=96

Actually total money collected =92.16( 9216 in paise )

So from this statement we come to know that 96=9.6
