discharge velocity, v = 8 × 10 m/s = 80 m/s
void ratio , e = 0.4
so, porosity = e/(1 + e) = 0.4/(1 + 0.4)
= 0.4/1.4 = 2/7
now, seepage velocity = discharge velocity/porosity
= 80/(2/7)
= 80 × 7/2
= 280 m/s
hence, seepage velocity = 280m/s
