Answer:

The height of the pipe is 463.19 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A solid cuboidal slab of iron of dimensions 77×10×17 is used to used to cost an iron pipe. if the outer diameter of the pipe is 5 cm and thickness is 0.5 cm.

To find : Calculate the length of the pipe?

Solution :

A solid cuboidal slab of iron of dimensions 77×10×17

Volume of the slab is V=l\times b\times h

V=77\times 10\times 17

V=13090 cm^3

For pipe,

Outer diameter = 5 cm

Thickness = 0.5 cm

Inner diameter = 5-1 = 4 cm

Volume of pipe = volume of bigger pipe - volume of shorter pipe

Volume of pipe = \pi h\times 5^2-\pi h \times 4^2

Volume of pipe = 25\pi h-16\pi h

Volume of pipe = 9\pi h

Volume of slab = Volume of the pipe

9\pi h=13090

9(3.14) h=13090

h=\frac{13090}{9\times 3.14}

h=463.19

The height of the pipe is 463.19 m.
