Answer:

Length of the pipe is 336 m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A solid iron rectangular block of dimensions(2.2m×1.2m×1) is cast into a hollow cylindrical pipe of internal radius 35 cm thickness 5 cm.

To find : The length of the pipe?

Solution :

A solid iron rectangular block of dimensions 2.2m×1.2m×1m

The volume of the block is V=l\times b\times h

V=2.2\times 1.2\times 1

V=2.64 m^2

In cm, V=2.64\times 1000000=2640000 cm^2

A hollow cylindrical pipe of internal radius 35 cm thickness 5 cm.

r=35 cm , R=35+5=40cm

R-r=5 cm

Volume of  hollow cylindrical pipe is v=\pi (R-r)^2 h

v=(3.14) (5)^2 h

v=(3.14)(25) h

v=78.5h

Volume of the block = Volume of the hollow cylindrical pipe

V=v

2640000=78.5h

h=\frac{2640000}{78.5}

h=33630.57cm

Length of the pipe is 336 m.
