a solid is in the form of a right circular cylinder mounted on a solid hemisphere of radius 14 cm the radius of the base of the cylindrical part is 14 cm in the vertical height of the complete solid is 28 CM .Find the volume of the solid ,the surface area of the solid, cost of the painting of solid at the rate of rs0.80 per CM square

Hello Mate!

Volume of hemisphere = 2/3πr³

Volume of hemisphere = 2/3 × 22/7 × 14³

= 5749.3 cm³

Volume of cylinder = πr²h

= 22/7 × 14 × 14 × 14

= 8624 cm³

Volume of whole solid = 8624 + 5749.3

= 14373.3 cm³

Surface area of hemisphere = 2πr²

= 2 × 22/7 × 14 × 14

= 1232 cm²

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

= 2 × 22/7 × 14 × 14

= 1232 cm²

Total surface area = 1232 + 1232 cm²

= 2464 cm²

Cost of painting = 2464 × Rs 0.8

= Rs 1971.2
