A solid is in the form of a right circular cylinder, with a hemisphere at one end and a cone at the other end. The radius of the common base is 3.5 cm and the heights of the cylindrical and conical portions are 10 cm and 6 cm, respectively. Find the total surface area of the solid.(Use π=22/7)

Total surface area = 373.45 sq. cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Common Radius = r = 3.5cm

Height of cylinder = 10cm

Height of cone = 6cm

Slant length of cone = l = root of 6² + 3.5² = root of 36 + 12.25 = root of48.25 = 6.95 cm

Curved Surface area of Hemisphere =  2πr²

Curved Surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

Curved Surface area of cone = πrl

Total surface area =  2πr² + 2πrh + πrl = πr(2r +2h + l)

   = 22/7 * 3.5 (7 + 20 + 6.95)

   = 22 * 0.5 * 33.95

   = 373.45 sq. cm
