A solid sphere is projected up along an inclined plane from its bottom with a velocity 2.8 m/s so that it rolls upward. if the inclined plane makes an angle 30 degree with horizontal, the sphere can roll to a maximum height of ___ m.

Please provide a sufficient explanation along with the answer. Thanks.

By using the Newton third equation of motion at inclined plame ,we can get it's maximum height
At the top most point the velocity v will become 0
v²= u² - 2gsin(tetha)s
0= 2.8²- 2× 9.8× sin 30 × s
s= 7.84/9.8
s= 0.8 m

Anonymous: That does't match the correct answer. The path followed by it is NOT a projectile because it's ON the inclined plane throughout its motion. Any way, thanks for trying.
Dhruv00: ooops sorry i didn't saw the inclined plane
Dhruv00: editing
Dhruv00: does it match with the option?
Anonymous: No, it doesn't :(
Dhruv00: toh bhai answer kya hai
Anonymous: I tried it with energy conservation, even that didn't get the correct answer
Anonymous: 0.56m hai
