Answer:

MASS PERCENTAGE = MASS OF COMPONENT IN SOLUTION/TOTAL MASS OF SOLUTION*100

MASS OF COMMON SALT=30g

TOTAL MASS OF SOLUTION=MASS OF (COMMON SALT+WATER)=330g

THEREFORE, MASS PERCENTAGE=30/330=1/11=0.909.

Given : A solution contains 30 g of common salt in 330 g of water.

To find : Calculate the concentration of solution?

Applying formula :

1) Mass of solution = Mass of solute + Mass of solvent.

2) Mass percentage = Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100.

Calculations :

→ Mass of solution = 30 + 300

→ Mass of solution = 330

→ Mass percentage = 30/330 × 100

→ Mass percentage = 0.09 × 100

→ Mass percentage = 9%

Therefore, 9% is the mass percentage of the solution.
