GIVEN: mass of glucose = 50 gm
mass of water = 250 gm
TO FIND: concentration in terms of mass percentage
SOLUTION:
mass percentage is one of the concentration to express the concentration of solute in a solution. Other such terms to express concentration are molarity, molality , mole fraction and normality.
mass percentage = X 100
mass of solute = 50 gm
mass of solution = mass of water + mass of glucose
= 50 + 250 gm
= 300 gm
mass percentage = x 100
mass percentage =
mass percentage = 16.6666
Hence the mass percentage is 16.666%.
