A solution isprepated by adding 2g of a solute in 18g water. Calculate mass percentage of solute and water

Answer :

Mass of solute = 2g

Mass of solvent = 18g

We have to find mass percentage of the solution.

Amount of solute in grams present in 100g of solution is called Mass percentage of solution.

Here, Mass of solution = 2 + 18 = 20g

⇒ %(w/W) = 2/20 × 100

⇒ %(w/W) = 200/20

%(w/W) = 10%
